JEAN HU

I’ve always said that physiotherapy is my second career. Prior to being a physiotherapist I worked full time as a registered yoga instructor and personal trainer.

Empowering and teaching others to move optimally will always be one of my greatest passions.

I ran a few marathons on my early twenties before I found my love for resistance training. In 2017 I broke three provincial records in powerlifting, was a sponsored athlete with Cellucor- the largest pre workout company in North America and competed in my first bodybuilding competition. I felt like I was living two separate lives- one as a bikini competitor and another as professional therapist. However, I knew that one day, my worlds would come together.

I fell in love with the sport of bodybuilding because it applied human anatomy and physiology. As I dove deeper into the sport, I faced the reality that while on the outside we looked like we were in the best shape of our lives, many of us were training through injury and pain.

I recognized that injuries could be prevented, movement could be more efficient and physiques could even be improved through education, therapeutic exercises and regular maintenance treatments. My goal became to bring health and longevity back into the sport while helping athletes bring their absolute best package to the stage. This is where ThePhysiquePhysio was born.

About Me: About

Bodybuilders are ordinary people, most of us have full times jobs and many of my patients juggle being a parent, multiple jobs and schooling. Bringing our best physique to the stage is our version of the extraordinary. Whether you are a new mom managing lower back pain, suffer from chronic neck pain or sprained your ankle playing pick-up basketball- I am here for you. I am passionate about going beyond helping you eliminate your pain and symptoms. My goal is to address your driver, empower you to “Do more and be more” so you can achieve your own version of the extraordinary.

As my career matured, my passions blended and my practice evolved. “Yogi Jean”, “Bikini Competitor Jean” and “Physio Jean” just became “Jean”.  I have always been extremely passionate about lifelong learning. My degrees, certifications and courses are integrated into my treatment plans, yoga classes and even has changed the way I train.

If I still have your attention- thank you for listening, thank you for being part of my journey.
